1. Who is responsible for your data?

This policy is drawn up in accordance with Law No. 18-07 of 10 June 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, as amended and supplemented.

2. What data do we collect?

• Your account: name, phone number and/or email address, account type (private or business). Your password is stored in an irreversibly encrypted form: we cannot read it.
• Your listings: title, description, price, photos, location (wilaya), contact phone number.
• Your listing reports, if any.
• Your messages: the content of messages exchanged with other users about listings, with their date.
• Technical data: IP address (security and abuse prevention), date of last login.

We do not collect banking data: no payment takes place on the site.

3. Why, and on what basis?

• Providing the service (creating your account, publishing and displaying your listings): performance of the service you request.
• Ensuring security, moderating content and fighting fraud: legitimate interest of the platform and its users.
• Answering your requests: your request to contact us.

4. What other people can see

The content of your listings (text, photos, price, wilaya) is public. Your contact phone number is shown on the listing page: it becomes visible to any visitor who clicks “Show phone number”. Only publish contact details that you are happy to make public.

Location data and other metadata contained in your photos are removed when you upload them.

Your messages are visible only to you and the person you are writing to; they are not read by the moderation team, except where required by law. If you choose to hide your phone number, it is not displayed on your listing.

5. Who receives your data?

The souk.com moderation team and our host (Contabo GmbH), as a technical provider. We do not sell your data and use neither targeted advertising nor third-party tracking tools.

6. Hosting and transfers outside Algeria

The data is hosted by Contabo GmbH ([À COMPLÉTER]). Where the server is located outside Algeria, the transfer is carried out in compliance with the applicable Algerian regulations.

7. How long do we keep your data?

Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists. On request for deletion, it is erased within a reasonable time, except for data we must keep to meet a legal obligation or handle a dispute.

Deleted listings are no longer visible; their data may be technically retained for a limited period for security purposes.

Messages are kept for as long as the accounts concerned exist; they are deleted with the account, on request, unless the law requires them to be kept.

8. Your rights

You can request access to your data, its correction or deletion, or object to its processing on legitimate grounds. Write to contact@lachelah.fr stating your name and the phone number or email of your account.

You can also lodge a complaint with the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (ANPDP): anpdp.dz.

9. Cookies

The site uses a single cookie, strictly necessary for login: “souk_session” (not accessible to JavaScript, valid for 7 days). There are no advertising or audience-measurement cookies, so no consent banner is required.

10. Security

Exchanges with the site are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are encrypted, access to data is restricted to the team, and logins are protected against repeated attempts.

11. Minors

The service is reserved for people aged 18 or over.

This policy may change; the date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
